ELI Assessment (Energy Leadership Index)
ELI stands for Energy Leadership Index. Energy Leadership is a coaching philosophy and approach developed by Bruce D. Schnieder, the founder of iPEC, the Insitute for Professional Excellence in Coaching. The robust, interdisciplinary methods pioneered and employed by iPEC are based on an “inside out” approach that transforms clients from the core, allowing for sustainable growth and transformation.
The Energy Leadership Index (ELI) is a one-of-a-kind assessment developed by iPEC that enables leaders (that’s all of us – you lead your life, your family, your community group, your work team) to hold up mirrors to our perceptions, attitudes, behaviors, and overall leadership capabilities. The ELI helps give you a baseline for your current performance, situation, and attitude.
I had the opportunity of working with Judy in a debrief of the Energy Leadership Assessment. Judy was right on when debriefing me. I felt understood, reassured and motivated. Judy gained good insight by asking me clarifying questions. It was almost as if she was connecting the dots, and I experienced moments of clarity regarding my actions. I’m a wife, mother of two children, and have a full-time career. The experience of the assessment was very beneficial and valuable. Judy provided a non-judgmental viewpoint and safe space for me to explore my actions and to step into a better balanced life. Thank you Judy!
Judy, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your work with me in coaching and in going through the ELI process. The system is amazing at identifying hidden blocks and bringing clarity to one’s life. I felt like the ELI results were amazingly accurate. It hit on my strengths as well as my areas in life that need a bit of work. The system is an easy process to relate to, and it gives an amazing visualization on energy and how we can show up in different situations. This is a huge take-away because as I moved forward with this in my mind, I found I was able to see how I was showing up in any particular situation and then identify any shifts that I needed to make so that I could show up in a way that brings more joy, productivity and fulfillment. Your explanation of the ELI and the coaching that followed was clear, concise and empowering. This has truly been a life-changing experience! Thank you!
Research shows that by simply changing your perspective in the workplace you can achieve greater long-term growth, 37 percent higher sales, and 31 percent more productivity, and perhaps even increase your likelihood of living to age ninety-four by up to 40 percent.
Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.
An Attitudinal Assessment
There are two main types of assessments: Personality and Attitudinal. Personality-based assessments, such as Myers Briggs and D.I.S.C., are very valuable tools that are designed to pinpoint certain personality types so that people can have more of an understanding about what their strengths and weaknesses are and how these play out in relationship to other people. By understanding your personality and how it relates to what you do, you can adapt your behavior to “work with what you have” in order to function effectively.
By contrast, the ELI is an attitudinal assessment, which is based on an energy/action model. This assessment differs from personality assessments in that it is not intended to label a person and have them function within that label. Instead, it measures your level of energy and engagement in your life at this moment based on your attitude, perceptions, and perspective on your world. Because attitude is subjective, it can be altered. By working with a coach using the ELI as a springboard, you can alter your attitude and perspective, make a shift in your consciousness, and increase your energy, engagement, and effectiveness.
There are no limits as to the potential growth that you can achieve. Once you realize that your level of consciousness is directly related to your actions, you can move from functioning effectively to functioning optimally.
The ELI assessment itself is a 20-minute, 84-question online assessment that takes a snapshot of how you’re showing up in the world. You will receive a customized report, which we will work together to debrief and apply to your personal growth goals. As part of the ELI assessment and debrief process, you’ll learn about iPEC’s seven levels of energy – a simple, yet powerful way to think of the interplay between attitude, emotion, and behavior and how these play out in your life.
